Applications are being accepted for two postdoctoral research positions in the Quantum Enabling System Technologies (QuEST) group of Professor Ozgur E. Mustecaplioglu at Koc University. Both positions will primarily involve theoretical studies of quantum thermodynamical properties of systems for specific applications.
One position will focus on design and applications of quantum fuels for space applications with multi-qubit systems and quantum coherence, while the other position will be focused on quantum thermodynamical properties of topological matter.
Both positions are for the projects of our group supported by TUBITAK (National Science Foundation of Turkey). The projects are within the scopes of some EU-COST actions (Quantum Technologies for Space and Atom Quantum Technologies) with plenty of international and national collaborations.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field and substantial experience in at least one of the following areas: topological insulators, quantum thermodynamics, quantum optics, quantum optomechanics.
The appointment will be for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The position offers a competitive salary, free accommodation (shared and fully furnished flat with all amenities), food tickets, and private health insurance benefits.
Applicants should submit electronically to Prof. Özgür E. Müstecaplıoğlu, , CV with a list of publications, a cover letter describing their qualifications, and the names and contact information for at least two professional references. A review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
