Quantum Metrology
Quantum metrology is concerned with utilizing quantum resources, e.g. entanglement, to achieve higher measurement sensitivity of the parameters of interest which are encoded in a quantum state. The theory of quantum metrology and quantum parameter estimation is used in quantum magnetometers and thermometers, atomic clocks, gravitational wave detectors and many other systems. In QuEST group we are interested in low temperature quantum thermometry, distributed sensing and quantum enhanced magnetic field measurements.
